Visting musical locations and following musical footsteps
Willkommen, Bienvenue, Welcome!
I’m a music geek that likes going on holiday. And when I go on holiday I like to do musical things.
There’s something incredible about being where great musicians have been – walking in their footsteps, seeing their sights and hearing their sounds. This information isn’t always easy to find as a holiday-maker, so I hope to collate and pinpoint some of this information, and tell you about my experiences there.
Thanks for travelling with me!
If you have any questions, just let me know! I’d love to help you follow some musical footsteps.
This blog is named after the gorgeous Ralph Vaughan Williams song cycle, Songs of Travel. Here is Bryn Terfel singing the whole lot. The cycle was first performed at the Bechstein Hall in 1904 (now called the Wigmore Hall). Read more about that hall in this post.
